Orbis POS is a point-of-sale system built for Central American retail: it works offline, prints on the hardware you already own, and closes the register without spreadsheets.

IThe challenge

Small businesses in the region work with intermittent connectivity and a mix of hardware bought over many years. Most point-of-sale systems assume stable internet and one specific printer.

The usual outcome is a business that halts when the network drops, and a register close that ends up being reconciled by hand in a spreadsheet.

IIThe solution

We built Orbis local-first: every terminal stores its own sales and syncs when there is signal, with deterministic conflict resolution.

The printing layer speaks standard thermal printer commands, so it works with existing hardware without buying anything new.

Register close, inventory and reporting all come from the same data model, so the numbers always reconcile.
